Desoto Kayak ToursAdventure Kayak Outfitters is no longer offering guided eco tours of the Mangrove Tunnels on South Lido Key. In our opinion poor stewardship, based out of greed, of the small kayak park has led to overcrowding with approximately three hundred or more kayaks and paddle boards being rented daily. This overcrowding has led to a reduction in manatee and dolphin sightings as well as bird life in the tunnels. Adventure Kayak Outfitters has a long history of extremely high success in viewing manatees and dolphins from a kayak. We can no longer offer a quality relaxing outdoor activity amongst the crowds of kayaks and the booming waterfront homes that now line the majority of the kayak trail. It has been our pleasure to guide you for more than a decade.

For a real Florida kayak adventure in a natural setting, please click the button below and be directed to our friends at Desoto Kayak Tours. They are a local tour company offering guided kayak mangrove tunnel tours to view manatees, dolphins, and other local wildlife in a natural uncrowded setting within a short drive from Sarasota and Anna Maria Island.

Kayakers in the Sarasota Mangrove Tunnel

Sarasota Kayak Tour

The Sarasota Kayak Tour departs from The Exotic Mangrove Tunnels on Lido Key, minutes from beautiful downtown Sarasota, and just a short drive from the crystal white sand beaches of Siesta Key. This is the most popular kayak tour in Sarasota. The mangrove tunnels are protected from winds, the channels where we kayak are manatee zones, which make it safe for both the manatee and kayaker. The shallow grass flats surrounding the area are rich with sea life including bottlenose dolphins. The Sarasota Kayak Tour is perfect for all ages and no experience is required.
